Origin, The Crown Estate's first innovation hub

Thank you to those who attended our recent engagement event, where we shared our plans for the refurbishment of Robinson House, the first step in the wider regeneration of Cambridge Business Park.

We plan to transform Robinson House into Origin – a statement Innovation Hub offering a publicly accessible café, flexible event space, modern offices and lab space.

Our aim is for Origin to provide a welcoming and collaborative space for pioneering businesses, researchers and the wider community.

Please view our exhibition boards and share your views by 12th March 2025 as your feedback will help to refine our plans for Origin:

New simpler recycling regulations 31st march 2025

Brown food poster with icons

The UK Government is planning to introduce new Simpler Recycling regulations, reforming waste collections and recycling across England. The new reforms aim to clear up confusion over recyclable and non-recyclable materials, as well as standardise recycling practices across England.

What are the new recycling requirements and how does it impact you?

Effective from 31 March 2025, businesses (with more than 10 full-time employees) will be required to separate Mixed Recycling (Cans, Plastics, Cardboard, Cartons Glass etc.) and Organic Waste (Food Waste) from their Residual Waste (General Waste).

Each business is responsible for separating waste and presenting it for collection in line with the legislation.for use before 31 March 2025.

For Customers of Byron, Newton and Tennyson House, we are introducing an additional bin to manage Organic Waste and this will be located in the communal bin stores for these buildings.
